Brian is proud to be able to work alongside his father and his two oldest sons. His children have grown up with a unique perspective on Holistic Management because it has always been part of their lives. Knowing their desire to continue in agriculture is not just an indicator that they see a future in this farm but in the future of food production in general.
Brian’s journey with Holistic Management began in 1993 when he picked up and decided to read Allan Savory’s book Holistic Resource Management (1988). That same year a 10 day Holistic Resource Management course was offered in his community which he attended with his father and his new wife Gail. A very strong and active management group emerged from that course and helped solidify the mechanics and the thought processes which make Holistic Management stand out from other “grazing practices” or “farm management paradigms”. In 2008 he and his family attended the Holistic Management 25th Anniversary in Abilene, Texas where he was privileged to experienced the rare opportunity to go on a pasture walk with him. Brian became a Certified Educator in 2010 and continues build his knowledge of Holistic Management while teaching and mentoring others. Brian is available for on-site consultation, public speaking and facilitation of HM courses.
